The lid appears tight fit but still steam leaks through. One round, I kept checking periodically as no whistle came – and saw after cooking one batch, water still was left. I added more water, and staretd second batch.. and this time hoped to get a whistle and didn’t check but eventually all water ran out and bottom started to smell burning metal.. Disappointed never got any whistle warning as advertised.

The idly cooker is made of good quality steel. Have used multiple rounds and the product is great. This is induction compatible which is an added advantage. Value of money at this price.

Good product for making idlis but the seller sent a defective product as one of the handles and the whistle was not fitting properly. Had to get it fixed from outside.
