someone looking for an iron pot which could last for generations. handling is also easier as it comes pre seasoned! the cost seems bit on the higher side . a reason to look for cheaper options made in India. though i have a few iron pots from local markets too but seasoning them is quite a process and requires to be done more frequently than this one. size is good enough to make small omelettes and uttapam but nothing beyond that.

It’s really too cute to look at. The price I say is high for its size but assuming that it ll last for a life time, it’s worth. It ll get seasoned after regular use I suppose. Perfect for two egg omelets, dosas and pancakes. Used it immediately to fry an egg (see pic) and it came out beautifully despite using just a sprinkle of oil. I am simply loving it…😘

It comes very handy in cooking dosa, pancake etc for my kid. I am happy with the product although it could have been thicker ( I have other lodge products and they are very thick bottom) and with wooden handle as it gets hot even with silicon sleeve I bought. I use only cast iron cookware and some of them require some maintenance and this one works like a non stick no/less maintenance. I Greese with oil after wash.

Bought this cast iron and another one from the same brand as i couldnt find something like this locally. The size and weight for this was what I really wanted however it has a couple of issues
1. I have other crep skillet which had perfectly smooth top, this one doesnt have smooth top which is a bit of an issue firstly thats not good for even heat distribution and secondly the parts of it will come off more easily and also rust more easily, it also makes it easier to scrape things off if it has even surface. This makes it difficult to make roti on it
2. it has a small handle which is perfect but there is no cover on it, I am used to having wooden cover so they are easier to lift when on fire.

This is really an amazing pan and this is my review after a couple of months’ use. The seasoning is also very simple. Just after a few uses, I felt this is way better than non-stick pans. Dosas come off easily.
Initial seasoning: For seasoning my new pan, I just rinsed the pan WITHOUT soap and put it on the stove for the water to evaporate. After the water has all evaporated, I turned off the flame and applied a small amount of oil everywhere using a cloth.
Seasoning: After my cooking, I let the pan cool a little. After it has cooled a bit, I apply a small amount of sesame oil using a cloth. That’s it!
Washing: Usually, no washing is required. Mere wiping is enough. If the pan needs some cleaning, use SALT and soft sponge. Do NOT use any harsh scrubber.
Important tips:
1. Keep the pan water-free.
2. Do NOT use soap unless it is very much needed. Soap removes all seasoning.
EDIT: It’s been months now and the pan is just getting better with time. I even make kebabs and saute vegetables on it. Totally in love with it!!
