I had a Shark vacuum previously until it just stopped working. Was looking for something that was comparable and found this. Actually, this works much better than the Shark. Picks up cat hair, dust, litter tracks and other debris like a charm. This actually reaches into the corners as well, (the Shark did not at all). The noise from the vacuum is tolerable, and doesn’t bump into this as hard as the Shark did. It’s actually not loud at all. It comes with a remote, so you don’t have to worry about hooking it up to an app to set up a cleaning schedule, plus it gives you the option to navigate it to any place you’d like it to go to pick something up right away instead of waiting for it to run over it during the course of the run time. You have the option to let it rest on the charger port to recharge or you can plug it directly into the vacuum using the same cord. The only issue I’ve noticed is that the brushes on the vacuum will tangle up in any loose cords so to be sure to secure them before use. As with any robo vacuum, it may get stuck from time to time depending on the height of your furniture. If you do notice it, just take steps to insure that it can’t access those places if you’re running it whenever you’re not around to help it out. Overall it is a great vacuum and a great price. I even recommend this to a friend and she purchased one for her home as well.

It comes with excellent documentation for set-up, maintenance and trouble-shooting. Any situation that’s come up has been well-addressed in the manual. It’s very reasonably priced compared to other machines.

Pros: It’s easy to set a schedule, easy to use off-schedule, and does a great job sucking up pethair. It has options to edge-clean and spot-clean, both of which work well. It holds a charge well, runs for a hour or more at a stretch, and recharges quite quickly. It gets itself out of corners easily, and the cliff sensor is excellent. It will try valiantly to bump over cords and door jams, and is usually successful. Basic maintenance is straightforward and easily performed at home. It came with a spare set of brushes, which are easily swapped out by the user.

Cons: It’s not programmable, so the random pathing can miss areas. Its capacity is limited, so it needs emptying daily at a minimum, more often if there’s any build-up of hair. The lack of beater-bar/ rotary brushes likely makes it less effective on carpeting (I use it exclusively on hardwood.) It’s really more of a robotic broom+dustpan combo than a carpet-cleaner.

We decided not to keep a help about 6 years ago. Reasons: so dependant on them, need to wait till they turn up, never know when they will not, sometimes wait till afternoon. In the meantime house is untidy and desperately crying for attention (in Bangalore, given the dust levels, dust and dirt accumulates if left for some hours!). Also the cleaning done by them, however good they are, leaves much to be desired, given the fact they work in several places.

I’ve been using a manual vacuum cleaner for many years ever since they came to India (my trusty and dependable 35 year old Eureka Forbes one) for upholstery, carpets, windows and sometimes floors in my parents place first, then mine. So not new to vacuum cleaners.

I’ve been planning to buy a robotic vacuum cleaner since about a couple of years now. Finally decided to invest in one, in great trepidation, as they are very expensive and if they don’t clean as expected, it’s a waste of a lot of money.

After a lot of research, finally settled on ILife A80 model primarily as I wanted the best within 20 k, approx the cost of a mid range mobile, thinking that if it turns out great, I will buy a high end one after 3 or 4 years (bought during the Great Indian Festival Sale so got a very good discount). And I’ve not looked back or regretted since!

Review after a month+ of use. Will edit later after a few months of use if there are any other comments that would help possible purchasers to make a decision.

    Pros:
    1. Excellent sales and customer support services. They called immediately after the delivery of my robot cleaner and arranged a demo at home. They frequently call to follow up on my experience and if I need any help.

    2. Demo was excellent and helpful.

    3. Programming and controlling the robot thru app or remote makes things so easy.

    4. It is very quiet, noise level is very minimal on least or within 25% suction setting.

Vacuums up even the finest tiniest particle of dust or dirt and a lot of larger things like fallen peanuts, pieces / cuttings of paper (I read in a review that it doesn’t but that’s not been my experience) – other than of course A4 size or large crumbled balls of paper which anyway should be on a table or in a dustbin not lying around on the floor!), etc.

In fact just to test it, I ran it for the first time after I myself had finished sweeping and mopping the floor. And the amount of dust it still managed to suck up was incredible! Actually I was shocked – it was so unbelievable!

    5. Sensors are very good, when it senses furniture in the way, it slows down. If it’s a table or chair leg, it goes around the leg, cleaning as it goes under and around the legs.

    6. Love the mapping function. It follows it’s own programming, and cleans apparently randomly, but far more effectively than a human. It first cleans all around the edges of the room then either goes up and down the length and width of the room or diagonally across it. Rarely repeats (though slightly overlaps the previous path – which is good, as anything that gets pushed outside it’s reach the first time, gets picked up when it turns and comes back on the overlapping run).

    7. Can just be left to do its own thing – no supervising necessary 😄

    8. Saves a lot of my time, at least an hour or more a day + saves my back too!

    9. There are 2 different units for vacuuming dry and wet mopping. Easy to remove and interchange.

    10. Mopping is good enough for daily cleaning (again, given the dust in India). It has a tank capacity of 300 ml max, sufficient to clean my home. At the end of the cleaning there’s barely any water left.

    11. Love the edge cleaning, spot cleaning, increasing or decreasing suction power and increasing or decreasing water usage for mopping functions provided. As well as manual control of direction when needed.

    12. Cleaning the robot vacuum is manual in this model – no self clean, but easy to do.

    13. Goes home by itself most times. Very rarely for some reason, gets a little confused even if it’s just 2 to 3 feet away, and needs a little help. But that’s very very rare. It eventually does find its way even if it’s not helped.

Love the way it quietly shuts off most of it’s power and goes very slowly home to its docking station (like it’s very tired after all the work it just did! Gives me a good laugh every time! 😂).

    Cons:

    1. Mopping of course (at least in this model) though good cannot be as good as a human mopping using a bucket of water, rinsing the mop often in between and changing water when it gets dirty. Since the mopping unit has only a small thin microfiber mopping cloth it cleans the entire house using this one cloth utilising the 300 ml of water in its tank. Though I’m very happy with this robotic vacuum cleaner, I still resort to manual mopping once a week (but that’s just me!).

    2. Hard dirt stains on floors if any need to be cleaned manually either before or after, as the robot mopping is a gentle wiping motion not an actual scrubbing action.

    3. It would help if a small division in tank is provided for floor wash detergent or phenyl etc.

    4. I feel slightly larger side brushes (legs) would help clean the edges and corners better.

All in all, very very happy with my robot vacuum cleaner. Keeps my home spic and span!

Thank you very much, ILife and Amazon for bringing this product to us!

We haven’t had a house help since the beginning of the month. And then, 2 dogs with blistering summer heat, meant sweeping and mopping the floors 3 times a day. ILIFE V3S MAX has been a game changer.

    1. Schedule for each day of the week to any time you want. We have it setup for early in the morning and it starts doing its work like a true worker bee. Place is almost cleaned up even before we rise. Need to make sure you robot-proof the floors so that it doesn’t get stuck and also so that it can reach all corners.
    2. Wifi connection – To set it up on wifi, press hold the soft button on top for 3 seconds till you hear a beep and the wifi icon blinks. On the app, you need to be connected to a 2.5 Ghz internet connection to recognise and configure your robot on your phone. Doesn’t work with 5 Ghz.
    3. Setup – Easy to setup, though the manual isnt translated very well and not very user friendly.
    4. Cleaning – It is so cute to watch the robot going about its business. I use the robot without the water compartment once in the afternoon to clean up fur. In the mornings use it with the water compartment and on standard or quiet mode. Dries real quick Suction is set to 40. Fairly noisy even when suction is set to 1. Does a very decent job of cleaning up dust and particles off the floor. Rate 9/10. Mopping wise it doesn’t remove stains that easily on standard setting. Rate 6/10.

Mapping – Since this is the 1st time we are using a vacuum robot and with 2 dogs, wanted to get something entry level. However the disadvantage of not having a saved home map means the robot can miss a fair few spots even right in the centre of the house..As per the demo, was advised to change from smart to auto setting. Still some spots have been left out. Rate 7/10

Sensor – The sensors are on 3 sides of the device and it is able to conveniently navigate spaces. However, it also ends up in spaces & situations that it cannot get out of and crys out for help. (Wish we could customize that sound). Rate 8/10

Edge cleaning and Spot Cleaning – 2 additional features you can use when the vacuum is in auto mode & waiting for instructions. Sometimes it changes on the fly and sometimes you need to pause it to effect. Rate 8/10

Demo – Though I had learned a fair deal about the machine and usage, the demo helped answer some critical queries. 1. Bags can store a lot more dust, like up to 1 months dust, but disposable. The built in box comes with a hepa filter as well and everyday use can degrade the filter very soon. And we need to empty the bin and clean it out everyday. 2. Detaching the mop refill along with tray. 3. Never use soap solution inside the water compartment. Spray or add a few droplets on the floor. Rate 9/10

App – Quite a few desirable areas. Transliterations. UI. When switching between app and remote. Lack of connectivity on 5 Ghz is a pain. 7/10

Overall a great product. If you aren’t looking for the add on features and faciness that comes with it but just need the convenience, this ones perfect.
