Excellent method of getting salt with lower dietary sodium alongwith potassium. Sodium and potassium work in opposite directions, with higher sodium implicated in increasing blood pressure and potassium causing a reduction!!!. The daily guidelines recommend not more than 4 to 5 g of salt equivalent1.5 to 2.3 g of sodium, from all sources including table salt like this. Our daily physiological needs require around 750 mg of of sodium or 1.9 gm of salt like this. I have seen the effect of cutting salt on my own self, and those effects are rapid and if cutting salt to RDA is one of the primary prevention strategy for blood pressure, kidney disease, diabetes, obesity. In my case, cutting salt intake alongwith a healthy unprocessed diet and BP medication caused my BP to fall from medication 150/90 to 120/70, in a matter of 1 month. Plus weight loss too. So this Tata low sodium salt is a good way to cut sodium intake and not feel the difference in taste.
