I’ve been searching for a large enamel coated cast iron pot for a while that wasn’t cost prohibiting. I came across this one and ordered it. I love it! Cooks food evenly and stays at temperature. It cleans very easily and looks beautiful on my stovetop. It bakes bread, soups, stews and sauces perfectly. I use it practically every day. I would definitely recommend it!

This review is about the 4-qt braiser in Graduated Red.
I’ve used this braiser twice since getting it a few weeks ago. The first thing I cooked in it was a beef stew, not fancy enough to be called Boeuf Bourguignon but the same general idea. I never had the pan on electric heat above medium because being cast iron it will heat up around 350 easily over medium. The beef browned nicely and nothing at all unusual happened while cooking. I chose to cook the stew on top of the stove rather than finishing in the oven just to see if the nice, tight-fitting lid would keep the heat even. It did and the stew was just as good without the oven time. Clean up was quick and easy.
Tonight I fried chicken in it. It came out perfect, once again never turning the electric burner up over medium. Cleanup was again quick and easy.
I have several well-seasoned cast iron frying pans, but nothing quite as big or deep as this braiser. This pan cleans up quicker and easier, no rust worries and YES the exposed edges may look like they are bare cast iron but they are not.
I would suggest that this pan never be placed on high heat. Just give it a few minutes on medium. Your patience will be rewarded. Never use metal utensils. Use wood, plastic or teflon. Clean with plastic and sponges, not steel wool. If you’ll do that you’ll never have to worry about chipping the enamel during use and your grandchildren will be using this braiser one day.
Save the little rubber bumpers used between the lid and base for storage. DO NOT use them while cooking.
But above all, just use it.

I love a good braiser! This 4 quart gorgeous enameled cast-iron cooks with minimal fats needed, excellent heat transfer and retention. The large surface area will allow food to be cooled for storage fairly quickly.
I’ve used it twice already since I received it. It’s great for chili, making a pan full of stewed veggies or slow cooking. Also, it cleans up like a dream.
I always put it back and its original packaging until next time. This pan is great for entertaining from stove to table also it’s so beautiful. The last thing I needed was another pan, but this was a highlight-a perk and great addition to my kitchen collection.

A great alternative to a costlier brand. Seals nice, great weight. Will explore more of their products.
