Not 5.4 litres…its 3 litres exactly…o measured with water..company has to change its capacity…to 3 litres….otherwise good product…heavy product…..can cook half kg rice with 300gms chicken as shown in pics…approximately 800gm can be cooked……..its easy to clean….compact to use…little difficulties to close the lid…but eventually it can be managed…

Very useful utensil— for those dishes which need medium pressure eg lobia beans, peas, nutri nugget/ mangodi curry etc( these dishes get overcooked in conventional pressure cooker). Also pressure pan has a very thick base ; one can stir fry the masala easily in it. The lid closes easily; provided you know the technique- you align the lid & then apply slight pressure on the lid opposite to the handle, and simultaneously close the lid. Only negative point- screws of the handle ate not tightly fixed…. But if they don’t fall out, i have no problem. All in all, pressure pan is a useful addition to the kitchen

I own and use what is a semi modern pressure cooker which means that it maintains constant pressure by a rocking weight on a pressure valve. I have been using pressure cookers for some time now so I have some experience with pressure cooking. I purchased the Prestige because I cook a lot of recipes that do not require a deep pot that could be done on a shallow pan pressure cooker and this cooker was affordable. I will admit that I failed to realize that this is a whistle cooker when I made the purchase. Whistle cookers work different than a standard modern pressure cooker. These cookers will release a large amount of pressure periodically then build up pressure again. This cookers are traditionally used in countries like India. The recipes dictate cooking time in the number of whistles executed by the pressure release valve by moving the weight upwards releasing a lot of pressure.
I was willing to stick it out and figure out how to cook with it. But the more I read the less I liked it. The whistle count is an inconsistent method of cooking food because the frequency can vary based on the temperature setting(easy to work around maintaining a constant temperature in a gas stove, I have an electric stove which according to the specs is supported). This style of cookers do not have a safety mechanism that prevents you from removing the lid when they are fully pressurized. The pressure safety mechanism consists of a cut hole in the lid called GRS(gasket release system) that blows a portion of the lid gasket through the hole exposing a vent hole on the lid releasing the pressure.
The main reason I returned it is because after three tests with plain water the GRS safety kept going off. According to the user guide this should only happen when the cooker exceeds normal pressure, it is not part of the normal use, and the fix is to clean the pressure release valve and re-seat the lid, should not have been an issue since all that has been used with the cooker is water.
This style of cooker has been used a long time and it obviously works for a lot of people but there are plenty of other pressure cookers that are competitively prized, safer, consistent, and simpler.
If you want to use this because you have recipe books that provide whistles for cooking times, buy a cooker that maintains constant pressure. To translate whistles pick the densest ingredient and base it on the weight or volume of the ingredient, or look for recipes that contain similar ingredients that provide cooking times instead of whistles.

The product looks good but the one I received the lid was not closing at all, had to return it. No problems faced in return. But I am not pleased with the size of the cooker n the Lts mentioned. Cooker looks small.

SIZE MENTIONED IS NOT MATCHING THE ACTUAL PRODUCT RECEIVED. ACTUAL PRODUCT IS LESS THAN TWO AND HALF LITRES IN CAPACITY. RECEIVED A OLD PACKAGING OF THE YEAR 2017 ALL TATTERED AND TORN. DEPTH OF THE PAN IS ONLY 3 INCH. SO NOT RECOMMENDED AS BIG CHEATING AND MISGUIDANCE ON THE SIZE. NEITHER THE BOX NOR THE COOKER HAS THE SIZE PRINTED SO THAT PRESTIGE CAN CHEAT CUSTOMERS VERY EASILY. I HAVE BEEN USING PRESTIGE FOR SO MANY DECADES BUT THIS IS A HUGE CHEATING RACKET.

Love it. Was looking for a pressure pan as I had only seen them in an old cookbook from the ’40s. I was delighted to find one in anodized aluminum. I have many different cookers in stainless steel. This one is naturally nonstick, lightweight, strong and cooks beautifully. My son was so impressed he took the second one that I accidentally purchased.

Too small for a 5L pressure pan, shallow and looks like 3 L pan. I had to return it and order an 7.5 L cooker.

Nice product. I’ve been using it so far for some 3 years now. It works well as a pan and a cooker separately as well. Value for money. 4 stars for the difficulty in cleaning the tube.

It doesn’t seem as pricey as other external websites I browsed and more over shipping free! The quality of the cooker is just perfect n everything new.
Thank you amazon for meeting the Indian needs too!
