The handle is too heavy and the tavva tilts – has to be held in place all the time.
The central circular projection at the bottom which makes contact with the induction stove is too small with the result that the centre of the pan igets too hot and burns rotis at the centre compared with the outer portions.
COULD HAVE BEEN DESIGNED MUCH BETTER. SORRY ITS AN AMAZON BRAND.

Worst product design. The weight of the handle is NOT balanced with a counter weight on the opposite side.
Due to this poor stupid design, it ALWAYS tilts on the side of the handle.
Also I don’t think this is pure cast-iron.
AmazonBasics products are good, but this is not AmazonBasics, but a Solimo product.

Bought this a while back and finally used it. Decided to make dosas in the first use and I was pleasantly surprised. Look at the picture for the first dosa made in it.
After washing it with soap and water and thorough drying, I applied generous amount of vegetable oil and heated the tawa for about 10 mins. Once cooled, I could feel the sticky oil on the tawa. Washed again and dried with a cloth before storing. I could directly use it for cooking next morning.
Pros:
1Comes pre seasoned, dosas didn’t stick even during first time use
2. Quite heavy leading to even heat distribution
3. Don’t see any rust on the surface
Cons:
1. Probably a bit too heavy for making rotis as you can’t lift this in between each roti.
2. The handle being cast iron too gets really hot. I use a silicon handle sleeve with it.

Good quality, crispy dosha. Can save time and oil.
