Totally dislike the quality. Used only for chapatis. Quality is very cheap and garbage. Very disappointed with the product with such a good brand name as HAWKINS as non stick coating started peeling off in 4months usage even after taking all precautions during washing with soft sponge, using on medium low flame, using wooden spatula. But still the coating came off IF THE BRAND LIKE HAWKINS WITH EXPENSIVE PRICE OUTPUT IS LIKE CRAP THEN I DONT THINK ANYTHING IN THIS WORLD IS WORTH BUYINS AS PER QUALITY REASON. I think I would have brought cheaper one every after 5 to 6 months. I really don’t understand why I bought this on expensive price just because of SO CALLED BRAND NAME HAWKINS. BUT THIS KIND OF QUALITY IS A VERY VERY BAD MARK ON THE BRAND.

After going through many non-stick griddles I decided on purchasing the Futura Flat Griddle to cook my blueberry pancakes on Sunday mornings. The griddle I replaced was only about two years old and I was tired of smelling toxic fumes from the plastic handle being too close to the flame and melting. I am ecstatic about this griddle. It’s heavy-weight aluminum with a unique steel handle that is raised away from the heat source and stays cool to the touch. The unit is stamped with a serial number on the bottom and a warranty card which are signs of a quality product. It also comes with a cookbook, one wooden spatula, and a cleaning scrubby.
Like I mentioned before I use this for pancakes and they come out great. For eggs, grilled cheese, wraps, and so on, I use my Lodge iron skillet instead. I’m sure anyone can cook a complete breakfast with the Futura but I just use it for my pancakes for its excellent no-stick properties.
Clean up is easy. I store it inside my oven on the bottom rack along with the Lodge because I am limited on space. The Futura won’t get scratched storing it inside the oven either.
The Future is perfect non-stick, non-plastic handle cookware that is quality and will probably be the last griddle I’ll ever buy. Get one and see for yourself.
P.S. Amazon says it has a plastic handle. This is in error.

Quality was ok but its size was very small. So I had to return it.

This Tava is very good. It’s coating is best. It’s 26 cm in size and has 4.8mm thickness which makes it very sturdy. Kindly note that use non stick Tava for specific use only and not for making all types of food. This increase life. E.g if purchased for making roti then use it for that only.

I purchased this last July. I had the exact same pan in the past which had lasted me for over 3 years. I had to leave that when we moved countries, that’s why I was so excited to get the same here in the UK. But this one was thoroughly disappointing. I have used it consistently, almost every day, to make chapatis, dosas and pancakes. This worked really well up until 6 months, after which the coating started coming off. I never hear it beyond medium high flame and have taken great care to hand wash it only without using any abrasive materials. All that effort in vain when today I finally got frustrated when my dosa stuck it like hot glue and I chucked it in the bin. Looking at the price, I should have just purchased a regular griddle pan off Tesco’s rather than staying loyal to the brand.

Many times, I found the price of the products are less after “Great Indian Sale” is over.

Despite several reviews saying works on induction hobs… IT DOES NOT (see answer to 3rd question which I missed when buying this product). Sadly it’s nothing more than a nicely finished doorstop in our house.

What a beautiful product.. my mother loves it. I ordered 26′ size and it’s not that light weight… Rotis and dosas can be made easily. Very nice

– Lightweight, sturdy, and lives up to its non-stick claims.
– Perfect thickness for quick and even heating, and conveniently sized (10inches/26cm) for cooking rotis, parathas, omelettes and dosas.
– Solidly attached handle with rivets, easy to clean without affecting cooking surface.
– After four years of use, still retains some non-stick properties, although diminished over time.
