Product arrived neatly packed. Product is good. It is freshly etched, so grind raw rice once to remove all the dirt enclosed inside holes before using.

I recently purchased this stone mortar and pestle set primarily for grinding spices, and I’ve had a mixed experience with it. On the positive side, the design and weight of the set are commendable. The aesthetic fits perfectly in my kitchen, and the heft ensures it stays stable during use, which is a significant plus.
However, there’s a notable downside that potential buyers should be aware of. The interior surface of the mortar and the pestle is quite rough. While a certain level of texture is beneficial for grinding, the excessive roughness makes it challenging to achieve a fine grind and can lead to bits of stone mixing in with your spices, which is less than ideal.
Despite this setback, the set serves its basic function and has a durable feel that suggests it will last a long time. If the manufacturer could polish the grinding surfaces to make them smoother without losing their effectiveness, this mortar and pestle set could easily become a 5-star product.
In summary, if you’re not overly concerned about achieving a super fine grind and appreciate a mortar and pestle set that looks good and feels sturdy, this could be a worthwhile purchase. However, if the texture of your spices is paramount, you might want to consider other options.
