Better to use colgate tooth paste on a hot iron. All stains will vanish at negligent cost. Take some paste on a rough cloth and scrub vigorously on the hot plate. You will get perfect result

I do have a Phillips iron with the sole plate as advertised, so I chose to buy this. The stick does work, but I heated the iron higher than stated in the instructions and it proved to do the trick in getting the stains off. You have to be careful not to burn your fingers as the stick melts quickly, I rubbed the excess off with an old damp tea towel . I then repeated the whole procedure, which all in all took about 20 minutes. I did not find this difficult at all or tiresome, as other reviewers have stated, nor did I have a terrible smell etc as described by some. I did open windows and the back door just in case though. However, I do agree that it is expensive for what it is, but I will buy it again, as it was not messy at all.

It came with no instructions. You have to turn on the iron and melt the stick on to the sole plate. Then wipe off with a rag or thick kitchen paper towels. There’s a bad smell that comes when the stick melts on the iron. My air monitor showed PM 2.5 around 270 and it was not a pleasant smell. However it works well as advertised and you can use clean ear buds to get the stuff out of the holes and steam vents. It’s probably a good idea to do it on your balcony or outdoors. Works very well to clean the sole plate. Expect a bit of residue for a few times before it gets totally clean.

Onderkant was donkerbruin geworden, is nu weer helemaal schoon. Stinkt wel tijdens gebruik dus even raam open om te luchten.

Tenía la base de la plancha con adhesivo, alguna etiqueta me llevé por delante planchando que dejé la suela fatal. Con este producto la he dejado niquelada, muy fácil de utilizar calentar la plancha y pasar a barra por la suciedad. Es cierto que he gastado más de la mitad de la barriga, pero la verdad es que estaba muy sucia, así que es normal. Muy contenta, y desde luego que volveré a elegirla si tengo un percance similar.
